Antefixes, are carved ornaments that used to be placed at the eaves of a tile roof and concealed the joints between tiles. They appeared in Greece at the late 1800’s early 1900’s.
This beautiful antique Greek Antefix is a collective one. It is a typical example of the 1900’s. It has two double spirals, a flower an anthemion . It is said that these kind of antefixes were inspired by the Parthenon’s marble ones.
It is in good antique condition with traces of time typical of its age.
